1915 South/Mobile Ashley’s Hope To Dream Partners with Alabama Live Well in Surprise Bed Reveal to Give 75 Beds to Children in Need

Mobile, AL – April 30, 2022

The Alabama Cooperative Extension System at Auburn University’s Live Well Alabama initiative will host 1915 South-Mobile Ashley’s Hope To Dream program Saturday, April 30, from 10:00am-12:00pm to give away 75 Sealy twin bed sets to children in need. The event will promote a healthy lifestyle, including good nutrition, active hobbies and good sleep habits for attending children and will take place in the gymnasium at Craighead Elementary School in Mobile. South Alabama University and Williamson High football players and cheerleaders will attend to help host and lead activities for the children. A healthy lunch will be provided, followed by the surprise unveiling of the beds. Children were nominated by area schools and organizations.


Hope to Dream is Ashley’s charity program that gives beds to children in need. For every mattress sold, $5.00 is donated to the program. Since the program’s introduction in 2010, Hope To Dream has gifted over 125,000 twin bed sets to children in North America. Live Well Alabama is a SNAP-Ed initiative developed by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System at Auburn University. Live Well Alabama combines innovative adult and childhood obesity prevention and nutrition education approaches. Live Well Alabama efforts include social marketing campaigns, and policy, system and environmental change strategies. The ultimate goal is to improve quality of life for SNAP-Ed participants by reducing and preventing obesity. This requires a culture shift and long-term commitment.

Media can begin to arrive at 10am. The event is informal. Children will be interacting and playing with football players during registration from 9:30-10:30am. Lunch will be served to the children on-site at 11am, with the bed reveal following at 11:45am. The event is expected to end at 12:15pm
