A warm, clean bed is a comfortable, safe space. We know many kids don’t have that, and we’re thankful to be teaming up to make sure more kids in our community do.

Through the Hope to Dream program, Ashley HomeStore Canada in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters, will host 30 children for a very special day at the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo on Saturday, June 25. Unaware that they’ll be receiving new beds, children have been invited to meet dozens of animals and learn about their sleeping patterns with a special unveiling at the end of the day... their very own bed including pillow, bedding, twin mattress and bedframe.

This event kicks off the weekend of bed deliveries. In total, seventy-five children across Alberta who either share a bed or face unique hardships will soon have comfortable, new beds to call their own.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters is incredibly thankful for Hope to Dream and Ashley HomeStore for supplying beds to local children in need,” explains Ken Lima-Coelho, President and CEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area. “This partnership allows us to focus on creating Developmental Relationships through mentoring while still providing access to important basic needs, like a comfortable bed to sleep in.”“Every child deserves a good night's rest and a bed to call their own” says Kevin Hook, Chief Strategy Officer, Ashley HomeStore. “Thanks to our community partners, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, we’re able to get beds to children who need them most and make dreams come true across Canada.”

Since its inception eleven years ago, the national Hope to Dream program has provided a fresh, new bed to more than 125,000 children. For further information or to request a bed for a child, please see the Ashley Homestore website or follow us on Instagram.
