The Wellsville Group, partnering with The Altoona Curve and Blair County Community Action, surprised 45 kids with brand new Hope to Dream beds at an Altoona Curve baseball game on June 10! This year; however, rain caused the field to flood and the game to be canceled. We kept our plans to give the kiddos a great day and wonderful experience receiving brand new beds! They had the happiest faces as they ran upstairs to the upper concourse where teams were prepping all their gifts and beds.

Each child received:

  • Bed frame and Memory foam twin mattress
  • Sheets, Pillow, Comforter and Protect-A-Bed
  • "Oh The Places You'll Go" book signed with a message from a team member from Johnstown or Altoona, PA Ashley HomeStore
  • Crayola art set, a teddy bear, an Uno card game, a journal with pen and an Altoona Curve baseball
  • Snacks, candy and a Hope to Dream baseball style t-shirt

The successful event would not have been possible without the assistance of our Special Deliveries team: Nicole Koch, Casey DeLong, Greg Losey, Jan Losey, Bonnie Vickery and Don Gugel that traveled all the way from Batavia to Altoona, PA and back in one day to deliver the merchandise! Thank you to those from the PDC that attended the event to help.
